Tagaytay: Josephine Restaurant and Sky Ranch

We decided to have the quick, day - getaway to Tagaytay one Saturday.  The usual route from QC is to take C5, SLEX then Sta. Rosa exit to Tagaytay.

We got to Tagaytay in time for lunch and why not go to Josephine's?  Since we were with my mom, it was nice to go to the traditional Pinoy restaurant.  While there were a lot of restos and coffee places booming and looming in Tagaytay, you won't go wrong with Josephine.  It has a nice location, with a nice view of Taal Lake and Volcano.

They now serve buffet, but we decided to go a la carte.  Bulalo, fried tawilis, grilled liempo and some fresh fruit juices.  Except for the liempo, bulalo and tawilis are staples in Tagaytay.  To be really honest, their bulalo was so much better than what is served at Leslie's or RSM's.  (TIP: These 2 restos are also popular destinations, but, their bulalo is not as tender as how Josephine's does it.)

Serving time took some time, maybe because there were a lot of people, or maybe their kitchen preparation time is just like that.  This is not a fast food, so a bit of waiting time here.  So as not to be bored while waiting, you can take time out to go to the al fresco area, catch a view of Taal lake and volcano or enjoy the garden or you can even have your caricature made for a price (if the artist is available).

After a hefty lunch, we then headed to Sky Ranch.  The sun may still be up too high, but we do not have all day/nihgt so we just went for it.  Entrance fee is Php 50/pax, inlcuding Senior Citizens.  (TIP:  You are not allowed to bring food and/or drinks inside, but if you just tuck it inside your not-so-big bag, it will go unnoticed.  I had the mistake of holding my SOLA tea bottle upon entry and Security politely asked me to leave it, write my name on it and come back for it.  My mom's bag was never checked though).  Food is available inside the park, but of course, was more expensive.

Kiddie rides are at Php 50 per ride.  There are ticket booths in in the park where you can purchase tickets for all rides and activities. (TIP:  If you have decided which rides to go to, buy them all at a single time so you do not have to line up all over again)

What are the things you can do at Sky Ranch? Kiddie Rides: carousel, mini coaster, balloon ride, bubble o'fun ala zorb, mini-Viking, train ride around the park.  Adult activities: Vikings ride ala Anchors Away, zipline, Sky Eye aka ferris wheel (Php 150/pax).

It is a small amusement park where kids will enjoy the rides and the adults to just enjoy the view.  There are not so many benches to sit on or shaded areas to rest at, so I would recommend you to put on sunblock when you go there when the sun is high.

Max of 2 hours at the park is enough, but best time to ride Sky Eye is during sunset, so time your visit to this place.
